vqNow admins sometimes wonder if all addresses count toward the protection package that they purchased. Most admins know that all valid addresses must be registered on the security server for these reasons. (Short explanation: It's easier to thwart dictionary attacks by instantly rejecting connections that do not present a valid address). But what if some addresses are rarely used, don't require spam protection, or are part of a domain alias...Does Vanquish offer a discount under these circumstances?
Generally, all addresses count toward the service package that you purchased. Sometimes, we can make an exception...
First, each address at a qualified domain alias counts only as ½ address. If your redundant domains qualify, this chops 50% off the cost of protecting many additional addresses.
But what about addresses that are rarely used or for which you do not require antispam screening? And what about addresses that you use as custom addresses or disposable addresses? (these are typically placed on your special List Serve list). Vanquish will consider discounting excess addresses for which you do not require antispam or that you use with the List Server List - but only if the total volume of incoming mail falls within your service agreement and only for users with 75 paid addresses or more. These addresses will not appear in your user account view. They have no features or options that require administration. Instead, they are loaded into a server validation pre-processor. Mail sent to these addresses will be screened only for viruses and phishing scams, but not for spam. Then they are passed directly to your mail boxes.
Important: if these users are sending mail through our server (that is, they log in and send mail with these "From" addresses), then the addresses must be regular full user accounts and not just valid "pass through" addresses. Of course, your staff could send directly from your own server or email service, but this is generally not a good idea. Outgoing mail should pass through the vqNow server for these important reasons:- It automatically adds recipients to their Allow Lists, assuring that replies are delivered immediately.
- It adds subjects to the SmartSubject list, ensuring that mail from strangers who reply to your own friends can also send to you.
- It digitally signs your mail. Anyone who tests for signatures will be less likely to set aside your mail as spam.
