Question

When I loaded your software, I deselected the option to add SurfMatch to my browser. Yet the Vanquish tray icon has SurfMatch checked. Did it install anyway? I now wish I had originally installed it.
Answer
Great question! We will clarify this in a future release.
SurfMatch supports both Internet Explorer and Firefox. When you install the Vanquish tray utility, you are offered both plug ins. These plug ins pass data to the tray utility which is used to populate your Domain-Allow list.
If you unchecked the plug in then the feature is inactive. The checkmark above the 'V' simply means that Vanquish is ready to accept the data from your browser and load it into your Allow List as you post to secure sites. But since your browser is not providing SurfMatch data, nothing is happening.
If you did not install SurfMatch plug ins when you installed the tray utility, the only way to activate it now is to re-install. But fortunately, this is quick and simple:- Close vqME (Click the 'V' and choose Exit)
- Click Start » Programs » Vanquish » UNinstall
- Do not select the options to cancel service or restore email settings. Leave them UNchecked. (You will be asked again in the next window)
- Go to www.vqme.com - but make sure that you are not logged in. If so, log out.
- Click Download at the bottom right of the screen. It is just below the login box. When asked if you wish to Open/Run or Save, choose Run.
- When reinstalling, choose Existing User. The reinstall will be much quicker.
