I have an email address that is used for mailing lists, where I will not know the senders address in advance.
Now the problem I have is that there is a sender sending me spam using that email address, and so it is being passed as List-Allow.
I tried adding their address to the Block Sender list, but it is being over-ridden by the List-Allow filter.
Short of moving to a new address and updating all the lists, is there a solution to this? |

Hi Dehawkinz,
For the benefit of users who do not know about the special List-Allow feature, it is explained here and here.
Did you know that you may use a different custom address with each newsletter? This way, the pollution of one cannot affect the others. We do not count these special List-Server addresses toward the vqME limit of 5 protected addresses.
But in this case, I understand that a spammer has discovered a List-Allow address that is used for multiple newsletters or registered sites. In fact, the Block feature has priority over all admit features. So this is not likely the problem -- I would like to investigate in a GoToMeeting session with you! But even so, the Block list is probably not an effective solution, because spammers rarely use one From address. In fact, the spam is often distributed and issued from enslaved zombies.
I would like to come up with a solution to this problem. Would you please open a support ticket (if you have not already done so). Send me the full headers of one of these spams sent to your List-Allow address. Please don't paste the entire message...Send just the headers. Refer to this tip. |
