Question
My company uses alternate domain spellings. The email user list is identical and mail is deposited in just one set of mailboxes. Do my usernames at the aliased domains count against the total number of subscribed addresses?
Answer
MS-Exchange and other mail servers support multiple domains with the exact same user list. This benefits companies who use two spellings for their company name. For example:- seveneleven.com -or- 7-11.com
- fidelity.com -or- fidelityinvestments.com
Addresses on a domain alias count only 50% toward the total number of addresses in your subscription agreement. The discount is restricted to two aliases of your regular priced domain and cannot be stacked on top of other discounts, such as the reduced cost for 2-year prepayment.
Example
Let's say that you wish to protect 25 users with vqNow. If your company has three domain spellings that cover the exact same email user list, then you only need to pay for mail arriving to 50 addresses; not 75.
- 25 addresses (primary domain)
- + ½ * 25 addresses (1st domain alias)
- + ½ * 25 addresses (2nd domain alias)
Restrictions- Mail must be intended for the same company, same individuals, and the user list must be identical. Typically, this means that the individual users reply consistently with only one variant.
- The discount applies only for the 1st and 2nd domain-clones. All domains still incur a 1-time setup fee.
- Mail must be for the same individuals who receive mail for the primary paid user list. In fact, we reserve the right to deliver all mail to one of the domains in the family.
- All pricing, policies and exceptions are subject to change without notice. This bulletin may no longer apply. Ask for our pricing and policies at the time of purchase and again when you renew.
