Vanquish email security technology is available on 3 platforms: an individual retail account, a hosted service for small enterprises and a server appliance for the larger enterprise or ISP.

Sometimes it makes sense for a user of vqME, our retail service, to graduate to vqNow, our virtually hosted service for small and medium businesses. Some reasons for switching are:
  • Need to protect more than 5 addresses
  • Excessive mail volume (typically more than 2500 per day for each user)
  • Cannot forward mail from hosted email service and cannot use POP-redirect feature
The only requirement for using vqNow is that the user owns the domain(s) and that most addresses will be processed by vqNow for spam, viruses and phishing scams. An individual using an ISP address (such as comcast.net) is not a candidate for vqNow, becuase this person does not own the domain and becuase he or she would only be protecting a few addresses at Comcast rather than most addresses.

These are the steps for converting from vqME (personal antispam) to vqNow (small enterprise platform):
  • Save all your Allow/block/domain lists as separate HTML documents. Later you will paste these into the list entry boxes in your new vqNow account.
  • Stop redirecting mail from your ISP or hosted domain to your vqME address. That means either:

    • Log into your regular email service and clear the Email Forward setting so that mail is no longer sent to vqME -or-
    • login to your vqME protected address page. If any of your addresses shows the link POP to the right, click it and then choose the top option, "I know how to forward...". Then click Next, Next, Skip, OK. This stops the interception of mail from your regular addresses.

  • If you have the tray utility (it shows a red 'V' on the Windows Task Bar), then uninstall it: Start Settings Control Panel Add/Remove Programs. The uninstall process asks you if you wish to cancel service and restore your email program settings. Accept both of these options.
  • Change the POP server settings of your email program accounts to their regular ISP settings (this may have been done for you during the previous step). Your email program should no longer be configured to retrieve mail from www.vqme.com.
  • Purchase vqNow online. Service is sold in increments of 10 addresses. You will be directed to fill in a form with your user list and IP address information.
  • Once we create the account, you will receive a welcome letter. Enter each user account and load the Allow/Block/Domain lists from the documents that you saved in the first step.
  • You must instruct your domain registrar to point your MX record to www.vqnow.com (You may leave the secondary record set to its current settings).
  • Set your Email program Outgoing/SMTP server like this: Server: www.vqnow.com, User Login: (regular email address), Server requires Authentication, SMTP Port 587
  • Each user will want to visit www.vqnow.com and install the Windows tray wizard. It works just like the one use with vqME.
