Access to Webmail website is slow

Hi,

I am a new regisitered user with Vanquish.

I'm using a 6mb DSL connection and accessing the Vanquish Webmail is slow. I also notice the same thing when you go straight to the held mail website (not as slow).

1. I noticed that my Yahoo Mail account goes right directly into the website and inbox instantly. There are probaly millions of users as Yahoo, why is the Vanquish Webmail (and held mail) so slow to load up? Are you going to be upgrading to a higher grade server any time soon?

2. I noticed that it loads up frames, etc on the Webmail page? Is that slowing the Webpage from loading?

3. I noticed that 128 bit encryption is loaded for the Webmail and Heldmail webpage. Does Yahoo Mail use this, if not then why is it necessary at Vanquish?

You correctly pointed to one reason for the disparity between our page response time and that of Yahoo. We prefer the use high-strength encryption for more pages and features. For us, it is a matter of privacy, security, and trust...

This explains part of the reason for our slower web page response, but it is not a good excuse. Yahoo has extra CPUs providing horsepower during peak periods. Recently, Vanquish has been the recipeint of the major awards for web mail, email security and especially antispam. In response, we are now beefing up network response times. We are committed to creating a fast and robust experience.

Yahoo is of course a huge company with relatively deep pockets and can afford to invest in hardware level encryption to support ssl (https) traffic, and they still choose to use a lower level of encryption that Vanquish. I applaud your commitment to security.
