|
|
- This tip applies to vqSA. At the time of this writing
the Bulk Add feature is not available for vqNow. Before you can load a bulk list of new user addresses into your security appliance, ensure that the domains represened within the addresses have already been created on the security appliance. If any of the domains are new, use the Add Domain feature and configure the new domain before proceeding.
To load a list of new user addresses, first create a list of addresses and passwords in plain text and save it to your disk.
Each address is on its own line with fields separated by either space or tab.
» Addresses may end in different domains, as long as the domains have all been created on the security appliance.
» To generate a random password for each user, leave out the passwords for all addresses
» Addresses must be lower case - Only passwords may contain capital letters
» The list does not need to be sorted- Log in as Admin
» For vqSA: https://vq.{domain.xxx}. Username: admin@{full_domain}
» For vqNow: The Bulk Add feature is not yet available
- Click "You are Admin" near the top of the screen (Bookmark this page for quick access in the future)
- Click Add Users (Bulk)
- Browse to the text file containing your user list
- If your list does not include passwords, mark the box Random Password
- Enter a valid email address for your report
- Click Validate and then View. A pop-up window informs you if all domains in your list are valid.
- Click Next. The addresses are added to your domains.
- Review the report that was mailed to you. Verify that each user paragraph ends with a line showing "SUCCESS".
Important: Refer each user to the new user checklist. It explains how to download the tray wizard, import address books and enable protection. It also directs them to helpful resources which reduces the time needed for training and support. |
