Question: When will SurfMatch support Macintosh (MAC)?
Answer
We are about to announce an upgrade to SurfMatch that supports the Firefox browser in addition to Internet Explorer. But alas, it is still restricted to Windows PCs.
The reason that we are not yet supporting Mac (only for this one feature), is because we don't have the available expert resources. vqME is a hosted email service that runs on our servers - and not in your own PC. But unlike the extensive code that runs on our servers, SurfMatch and a utility for quick address book import are local programs that you download into your PC. Currently, this program (called the "Tray Wizard" is a C++ application written and compiled for Windows.
Incidentally, a significant portion of the SurfMatch feature was contributed by a senior consultant to PC Magazine. He is a vqME enthusiast who earnestly wanted to improve our service. If you know of an expert programmer who can write and compile to MAC Tiger/Leapord, please ask them to contact Vanquish. |
