In the past, some small offices chose vqME instead of vqNow. vqME is a personal antispam service intended for individuals and families. Since it protects up to 5 addresses and can send mail into separate spam free mailboxes, it's tempting to use it for a workgroup. But with vqME, users share their password, preferences, Allow/Block lists and even their Confirmation ID. Additionally, it is subject to personal limits on overall email traffic and is not compatible with Exchange and other custom "groupware" services. [More about differences]
If you use just a few addresses and none are a domain "catchall"), there is a new reason to choose vqNow, the premier business platform. Now you can get it at a steep discount. At the time of this announcement, a 5 user mini-workgroup account it is only $100 plus a 1 time setup of $50. That's on par with 2 or 3 vqME accounts, but with lots of nifty extras for people who own their own domain.
If you take us up on this offer (and why wouldn't you?), note that your vqNow account must be to be programmed with all addresses on your domain. That's because a special feature blocks dictionary attacks by refusing connections from any server that has an incorrect or unlisted delivery address. Even though you must register all addresses, you can selectively disable spam filtering on some of your addresses. Inactive addresses are assessed against your address limit or included as a low cost option. |
