Question:
Vanquish cleans my mail of spam, viruses and scams. But why do you ask that outgoing mail be sent through a Vanquish SMTP server?
Answer
We are often asked this question. This answer applies to all platforms: vqME, vqNow and vqSA. Here are 4 good reasons- Your recipients are automatically whitelisted [SmartMaintenance feature]
- Web sites at which you make a purchase or submit confidential data are whitelisted. This avoids blocking receipts, shipping confirmation and other automated mail [SurfMatch feature]
- The subject of incoming mail is compared with recent outbound mail. If your recipient forwards your message - and that person replies back to you, it will be admitted instantly [SmartSubject feature]
- A Bonus: When mail arrives from unrecognized addresses, many ISPs and email services look for a bond (a sender warranty). Your mail to these ISPs will automatically include one. It tells the ISP that your mail can bypass spam filters.
These are powerful and popular features and they are important to ensuring that desirable mail is not intercepted. But here's the catch: Although our mail server is available to any authenticated user, your mail won't receive these benefits unless your From address is listed on your tree of Profiles & Protected addresses. Additionally, the address must be confirmed. That means that after registering the address, you responded to an automated mailing. This demonstrates that the address really belongs to you. |
